Eyelash extensions are literally little fake individual eyelashes that are glued one by one to your natural lashes at the base, by an aesthetician. The extensions “grow out” with your natural lashes, and fall off when the lash does. Lash extensions semi-permanently enhance the length, thickness and fullness of natural eyelashes.
There’s three types of eyelash extensions you can choose from: synthetic, silk and mink. Size availability ranges from 6 mm to 17 mm. The cost of this service can range anywhere between R500 to R850, depending on the type and number of lashes applied, and the entire process usually takes an hour to two hours. Eyelash extensions normally last around 3–4 weeks, at which time they begin thinning and falling out.
Here are some of the comments I have read from ladies that have had eyelash extensions:
I mean WOW! Just wow who wouldn't want this? Oh wait I forgot to add one that stood out for me: it is waaaaay quicker than trying to grow one's own natural lashes. At this one point I can definitely agree on because when you get eyelash extensions they are done and dusted in 2 hours whereas with growth serum this can take anything from 2 -3 months.
But we can never just look at things from one side right we need to look at the bad things as well. So are there any cons to have eyelash extensions?
While eyelash extensions are expensive, and high maintenance, they can also give you the lashes you have always wanted and enhance your natural beauty. I recommend you spend time researching different technicians in your area, and always make sure they are licensed and certified. Avoid eyelash glue that contains harmful ingredients like formaldehyde, as they can cause an allergic reaction.
And on a final note give your lashes a break every now and again - by trying the lash growth serums on the market. If my maths is correct getting eyelash extensions is waaaay more expensive than trying to grow your own lashes. Check at these images below - this is Long 4 Lashes by AA Cosmetics and I have to say for me it looks good, healthy and natural.
See it on the website!
And lastly as promised you can win L4L serum AND mascara. All you need to do is 1) share the post and 2) tell me why you need Long Lashes :)
Have a wonderful day further.

Sometimes we don’t realize how important lashes are until you actually wear a false lash. As a drag queen, I personally cannot live without my falsies, lashes just simply put an entire look together. The truth is, it does give you confidence, even when you’re not wearing makeup; having a lash on just makes you look 100 times more fabulous!
I am a natural strawberry blonde, so I’ve been blessed with the tiniest thin light lashes. And due to current health issues my hair is even thinning out further, which leads me to look like a lash-less lizard.
If I don’t wear mascara the day, people ask me whether I’m alright because I look sick! And having sensitive eyes means I always have to watch out which chemicals I put close to my eyes otherwise I look like I have red-eyes or cried for several weeks.
So for me I’d absolutely love to get lash extensions but I’d probably walk around with the best lashes ever around swollen eyes. My best bet would probably be trying to improve what nature gave me.
I dont always like applying mascara but it definately completes a look. Long lashes will have the same effect minus the effort :)
I loved the way they looked but they felt uncomfortable and left my eyes red. That was in 2012 and I hope the application process has improved since then, if so I would love to do them again
