There are many different types of foundation that it can be overwhelming trying to choose the right foundation type for your skin. There are different levels of coverage, different finishes as well as different moisturizing properties. Some foundations promise even skin-tone, whilst others claim to have anti-aging properties. Then foundations come in different formulas, different packaging and different consistencies. Woah! I'm exhausted just thinking about it. AND this is before we've considered the different BB and CC Creams.
BB Creams and CC Creams were developed to provide lighter-than-foundation coverage but with added skin care benefits- RIGHT? YES!
BB Cream stands for Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm.
A BB Cream provides lighter coverage than foundation but more coverage than a tinted moisturizer. Our BB Cream regulates sebum and mattifies the skin. BB Creams adapt to your skin tone to cover blemishes and other skin imperfections. Our Multi-Action BB Cream is rich in Vitamin E and acts as a moisturizer that has a dewy, smoothing effect on your skin.
CC Cream is a Colour Corrector and is the BB Creams' slightly superior sister.
The main aim of a CC Cream, and why it is different from a BB Cream, is that a CC Cream aims to colour correct redness and swollen areas of the face. The feel of a CC Cream is even lighter on the skin than a BB Cream. Our CC Cream contains Japanese Cherry Extract which acts as a moisturizer as well as milk, honey and Vitamin E. As an added bonus, our CC Cream contains UVA/UVB filters so it's the perfect Summertime product!
Let's decode what type skin would prefer a BB Cream over a CC Cream

If Anti-Aging is a Concern
Foundation is an essential skin-smoothing makeup tool. Foundation is a crucial part of any makeup routine as it provides the base for flawless finishes.
So let me walk you through the Hean foundations and which skin type they suit.
The Hean Mat Effect Foundation is the perfect foundation for oilier skin types. This foundation is lightweight and is easy to apply and blend out. It provides light-to-medium coverage that is buildable to full medium coverage. Vitamin E nourishes the skin and aloe soothes. It also contains UVA/UVB filters and is an all-year round product.
Pressed Powder Foundations:
The Hean High Definition Mattifying Rice Powder is a mineral pressed powder foundation. This powder can be used with or without foundation. If using with foundation, apply the rice powder with a foundation brush on top of your base foundation to provide an even, smooth finish. If you choose to use the Rice Powder without foundation underneath, then application remains the same. It is an easy way to get a smooth finish. Sheer coverage is obtained by using a brush and medium-to-full coverage is obtained by using a damp sponge.
The Hean Studio Lift Foundation is a lightweight medium-coverage foundation that contains an SPF and doesn't settle into fine lines and pores. Contains olive oil which is a natural moisturizer.
So, ultimately, the choice is up to you! However, always go for a lightweight base during summer. It will allow your skin to breathe and won't clog your pores during very hot days. Buildable and blendable foundations are super easy to work with and always give the best results.
So, which type of foundation do you use? Leave your comments below.
PS: this is a recent photo of me I totally LOVE my Hean makeup! It changed my life.
